    You should also look at LCD. like sharp and samsung. 1080p is better, but if you only goes for those 2 i said philips has usb and i think it look better, i don’t like LG too much.

    I prefer LG’s SUPER SHARPNESS…..

    Philips is good too…

    BUT

    SONY is the leader in LCD technology….can you pinch a few more pennies and get one?
    I’d try….or maybe put some on credit.

    But if not, get the LG…we haven’t seen a lot of these coming in for repair over the last few years…

    I did have one LG customer (in 2005) that bitched about her Plasma TV set still glowing or displaying a picture AFTER it was turned off…She got another one…and it still did the same thing !! Newer power supplys can keep power to the TV longer I guess….

    Actually both of the above products are Plasma type HDTVs and not LCD. Do you really need the HDTV tuner? Your cable box may already perform that function. Hey, its just extra money. Also, you need to consider the viewing angle, the placement of your existing furniture and the size of your room.
