I have been using a normal UHF/VHF antenna and it picks up two digital channels and they’re both ABC. I just bought an HDTV antenna and I set it up and all I could get was the analog channels and non of the digital channels. I went to antennaweb also but does that really help? I need to find more HD channels but now I’m starting to think that only an outdoor antenna can pick them up. Oh, my HDTV also has an NTSC/ATSC and QAM tuners.

I’ve only seen 480i Standard Definition on ATSC Tuners, including what Comes Built-in with today’s TV’s. I mean, why is noone using 480p for SD for DTV?!?

And what about MultiCasting Channels?!? Why are they only 480i, and not 480p?!?

I will be buying a LCD HDTV. I’ll be using a rooftop antenna to pick up over-the-air programing. Not all programming is in HD yet. Will the ATSC tuner pick up both analog & digital ? Or do i need to get a set with ATSC/NTSC ? If so will the tuners automatically read which signal to use? Thanks Edal
reggieman, thanks for the info. I understand about the double broadcasting analog 5, digital 5.1 signals sent out. If I purchase a ATSC only tuner & the station is broadcasting a analog program, will it come in on the 5.1 digital? Or will they send it out on the 5 analog? Thanks again Edal
