I will be purchasing a HDTV in the next couple days. I don’t have any cable outlets whatsoever in my home and the cable company is making me wait 10 days to see if they will service my address. Now, I read that most HDTVs have an ATSC and NTSC tuner. I’m not sure what that means really. I just want to be able to watch CBS, NBC and ABC, FOX is fine too but not as important. So would I be able to recieve said channels without an antenna or cable tv? Thank you.

When I go to my grandma’s house out in the country (she uses an antenna to get channels), she gets a much better picture than I do with cable in town.
