BaLLs oF WonDeR asked: I currently have basic cable through TVMAX. I have an HDTV with a built in ATSC tuner. I also have an HDTV antenna. However, my tv only has one port to hook in a cable plug. Either I have to unplug my cable to get the antenna hooked into the tv, which means I don’t get my cable channels, or vice versa.
Do I need a splitter, or how do I go about using my analog cable, and hooking up my new antenna for over the air HDTV?

asked: So I am buying an HDTV even though I don’t have HD box or anything. No point of buying a CRT TV at this day and age just cause I don’t get HD channels (I might in the future).
So right now I have basic cable with one CRT TV and one HDTV. I plan to use a splitter and connect the basic cable to both my TV. Question is how will the picture turn out on the HDTV? It says it has built in NTSC, ATSC, and QAM tuner. Is there any particular thing I should keep in mind before doing this?

wayne l asked: I just bought a HDTV with built-in NTSC and ATSC tuners, and built-in QAM cable tuner. Do I need to rent an HD box from Comcast to watch the basic cable channels in high def, or should the channels already be in high def once I install the basic cable?

bjmarchini asked: I get basic cable, because that is all I really watch. I am thinking of picking up a new 37″LCD TV with both an ntsc and atsc tuner. The ones I am looking at can handle over the air HD digital broadcasts. If I upgrade to the high definition digital cable, will i not be able to connect the rest of my tvs to the cable. I also have a media center PC with a analog tv tuner too. I like the idea of hooking up and watching HDTV but I will lose the ability to jsut plug in the rest of my TVs and devices, I think. I have seen how they look without the higher definition….
Since it is basic, I just run it straight into my current TV without a converter box.
Has anyone gotten the HDTV cable signal and still been able to hook up their older TVs without a digital Converter Box?

Diddy_64 asked: I currently have basic cable through Time Warner. I recently bought an HDTV with a built in ATSC tuner. Yesterday I went and got an antenna for off-air HDTV. However, my tv only has one port to hook in a cable plug. Either I have to unplug my cable to get the antenna hooked into the tv, which means I don’t get my cable channels, or vice versa.
